Beach-ing in Batangas

First time I posted something like this was back in November, when I went to Quezon with my Goodreads friends. Though this seems a bit out of place compared to what people have been seeing in my blog, I've decided to write posts such as this for the sake of preserving memories of my travels.

So last weekend, me and my theater orgmates from college decided to have a reunion in San Juan, a first-class municipality in Batangas with a population of over 87,000 and is 115 kilometers away from Manila (according to Wikipedia). After getting lost for a full hour in Bacoor, Cavite, I was able to join the others in the van. Before we continued, however, we stopped by SM Dasma to eat pizza.

Where's Willy
We resumed our journey by cruising along South Luzon Expressway, then we stopped by this busy town to buy necessities such as water and charcoal. It was nearly evening when we arrived in our friend's house in Buhay na Sapa, San Juan. We played Twister and Pinoy Henyo that night, along with a healthy dose of horny charades.

Forgot the name of this place

We headed for the beach the next day. The ride to Hugom, San Juan takes only half an hour from Buhay na Sapa, but we in the van still had to take good care of the sinigang pot to keep the sabaw from spilling. And it was every man for himself once we arrived on the beach. Some ran straight towards the sea while others made love with the videoke machine. After an hour or more, our group reunited to play frisbee.

A grueling hour of knee-scraping had passed, and we decided to play beach volleyball with some locals. I haven't played the sport for almost four years, but I was surprised that I can still smack the ball across the net.

We played a game of ball...
...then one of us got injured.
We set forth for Manila at around six in the evening. It had been quite a while since our group got together, so we didn't mind the exhaustion on our way home. Since we would all be going on our separate ways now, we decided to make this out-of-town reunion a yearly activity, and (guess what?) I was picked as the next project head for next year. Good luck naman sa'kin. Anyone know a nice place to go to? Pressure naman. Hehe.

Thanks to Martin and Suzie for the pics.
