Bulong
Directed by: Chito S. Roño
Following an old superstition, a young nurse (Navarro) whispers his crush’s name on a dead person so as to make the girl fall in love with him. Horror ensues, and the nurse seeks help from an expert (Panganiban) to get things back the way they were.
I’m quite a fan of Panganiban, thanks to her performance in Here Comes the Bride. It’ll be very interesting to see her do a horror-comedy with Vhong Navarro. I’ll surely see this one.
Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington
Starring: Mart Escudero, Janice De Belen, Roderick Paulate
Directed by: Jade Castro (Endo)
Screenplay by: Raymond Lee, Michiko Yamamoto (Ang Pagdadalaga...)

Not really sure what’s going on here, but the film’s Facebook page has this to say about it: “A coming of age story. A coming together of friends and family story. A coming of Zombadings story. Coming sooner.” Based on the trailer, we can say that gays are being killed, and that they have risen from the dead for some unknown reason.
I already have some people who’d be willing to watch this with me (this means multiple viewing times). Just seeing the awesome Roderick Paulate and the super funny Eugene Domingo in the trailer is already enough to make me want to see this one. Plus, the teasers are hilarious. Check them out on Youtube.
Tum: My Pledge of Love
Directed by: Robin Padilla
I've learned when I watched Rosario that you should NEVER judge a movie based on its trailer. But when it is possible to do so, then I will miss this one on purpose. Trailer's not very impressive, but we have to give Padilla a shot, hearing how some declare that he wrote and directed the whole thing, and that the entire film is shot in India, with Indian actors and Indian stuntmen and a whole lot of India-ness.
Which brings us to the question: Are Mariel and Robin really in love with each other?
My Valentine Girls
Directed by: Mark Reyes, Chris Martinez, and Topel Lee
To be honest, the last Richard Gutierrez film I watched was Let the Love Begin, which I actually liked. I admit that if Eugene Domingo is not in this one, and if Chris Martinez isn't one of the directors, then there is a high chance I'd be ignoring this. Gawd, Eugene has got to be one of the most hardworking actresses in Philippine showbiz. And she delivers her best in each and every one of her projects. Yes, I'm a fantard.
Which brings us to the real question: Since this is a Valentines movie, who will I be watching this with? =(
And speaking of Eugene Domingo...
Kimmy Dora 3
That's not a typo. The sequel to Eugene Domingo's funny-as-hell launching movie will be called Kimmy Dora 3. The reason? We have to wait and see. We can guess that a 3rd sister will be joining them. Or that the film will be released in 3D. Or that the film will be 3 hours long. No matter what the reason is, I'm sure I'll be seeing this one.
Here's hoping that 2011 will be a very good year for Philippine cinema. Also looking forward to get me some healthy dose of indie flicks from Cinemalaya and the other festivals. Nood na tayo!
So which of these films are you going to watch?

looking forward to seeing bulong.
my kid's been talking alot about zombadings, but haven't seen the trailer yet. maybe later when i'm home. :)
i'm definitely watching zombadings, my valentine girls (for eugene), and kimmy dora 3.
i think the story behind kimmy dora 3 is that when someone asked bb. joyce bernal if she would be interested in doing a sequel, she said she'd rather make the end of a trilogy because sequels usually don't live up to expectations. haha. :)
Looking forward to Kimmy Dora 3 as well!! :D
that's good to hear. :) Eugene's amazing, no?
parang year ni Eugene Domingo ah! sya na maraming projects! hehee
can't wait for Kimmydora and ZOmbadings :)
Actually, it is called Kimmy Dora 3 because they don't want to go to Kimmy Dora 2 yet. They want to do 3 first because they want to make sure that they can have 2 as well in the near future. I have read it in the newspaper once.
As for the Robin-directed-produced-starrer, have you heard of what happened to his last soap in GMA? It was Totoy Bato, the third and last for his GMA contract. It was a very promising show. The first episodes were amazing and the story is good, but he manipulated everything. I say so because I noticed how the latter episodes became too indie-ish. Tipsy movements of the camera. One-camera usage. Insufficient lighting. And all. News have it that Padilla took over everything. Directing, script--it had to be everything that he wanted it to be. And so Totoy Bato became a whirlwind of crap. What more about this movie of his, with his "wife"? Let us just see.
High hope with the Philippine movie industry.
Kimmy Dora 3... and lols at Zombadings! Thanks for the update Will! :p
yun oh... ngayun ba yung kimmmydora 3 ,.,, astig... :D
kimmy dora 3!! ahahaha... ako din, sure na i'll be seeing the movie.. LOL
not really interested with gutierez's and padilla's, but Kimi Dora 3 got me excited. XD
kimmy dora 3 and zombadings for sure ang hindi ko papalampasin :)
Frankly, I am not a fan of filipino films especially the horror ones. They are all copied from foreign films and I agree with Claudio up there. But I will definitely watch Zombadings. :)
Let's watch. Hope it's funny din. :)
me, too! :D
this 2011 siya papalabas. :D
same here. padilla's trailer doesn't excite me one bit.
ako riN!
ako rin. pero versatile naman si eugene, she can do drama roles as well.
hahaha, pero they say Star Cinema had a good year last year. Dalawa ata ang Fail nila. hehe
why, bakit ayaw mo ng zombadings?? haha
you're welcome! :D
Wow, thanks for your very informative comment. So that's what happened to Rob's soap. Yes, we all should have high hopes for the Philippine movie industry.
She's very hardworking. Call her overexposed but at least we get our money's worth from her projects. :)
eugene domingo fan here, so i'll be watching everything that she's in. thanks will.
you're welcome! :)
Haha mukhang OK yung Zombadings!!! last year I watched more Thai movies than Pinoy movies so this year I'll see if that changes... Or if not, I'll just wait for your reviews...
Same here! I watched more Thai films than Pinoy films last 2010.
Nae-excite ako sa Zombading, hahahaha. As far as Mariel-Robin, ugh c'mon. Nakakairita lang sila. With the amount of spinning and pagpapapansin that they did in the past year, who knows what's the truth. Nakakaumay sila haha.
Add Chris Martinez's entry to Cinemalaya this year, the Eugene Domingo-starrer, Ang Babae sa Septic Tank :)
Bulong and Zombading really looks promising. Parehas pang horror-comedy. Hopefully it wont disappoint in the comedy part. Hahaha.
Kimmy Dora! Nagtaka din ako dun sa 3 eh. Wahahaha.
Oh and I really cant stomach Richard Gutierrez kahit na isama mo pa si Eugene Domingo at Chris Martinez sa mix. Hindi talaga.
Let's watch Zombaginds with TK! :D
Right! Forgot that one. Magandang tandem yung Martinez-Domingo. Parang Welcome to Interlstar lang.
Bulong and Kimmy Dora 3! :) WATCH WATCH WATCH!
