Here's something to look forward to. Namco Bandai, developer and publisher of instant classic videogame hits such as Eternal Sonata and Soul Caliber IV, has just released a mouth-watering teaser of the full-length CG movie Tekken: Blood Vengeance.
Tekken project director Katsuhiro Harada has this to say about this upcoming film adaptation in comparison to the recently released live-action movie:
"That doesn't have anything to do with it this time," Harada insisted. "We're not trying to rewrite those wrongs. Fans are always asking us for a 3D movie. This is our response to them... We want to make a movie that everyone can enjoy, though. Not just Tekken fans."
In other words, he thinks the live-action version sucks big time.
Now I've only played three Tekken games to develop an immense liking to the series, but judging from the action-packed trailer I think Harada could be spot on about this film appealing to the non-fanboys, and with Digital Frontier, the studio behind the visuals of Resident Evil: Degeneration, responsible for the animation (and it's looking sleek and shiny so far), I wouldn't have to think twice to see this as soon as it's released.
Tekken: Blood Vengeance is slated to wreak havoc this Summer 2011.
